Inverness – Craig Phadraig

It wasn’t a day for gallivanting today but we did enjoy a walk in the forest on Craig Phadraig which is only a few hundred yards behind Lena and Mark’s house. It’s a favourite place for people to walk their dogs and popular with mountain bike riders though I suspect not so much with the guy we saw get off his bike and walk up the first climb. I hoped to see some wildlife and there were birds calling and some signs of deer but I suspect most animals are waiting for warmer weather before they venture out. We were lucky there was no sign of rain when we were out but later it poured down.

He just brought the blade of his hand down sharply and the enormous boulder split in two!

The smell of the wood was wonderful, not of Pine but more like Cedar.

What looks like Button Grass is actually boulders covered in moss.

A Bug Hotel someone has hung in a tree – musdt be for visiting bugs, I’m sure the locals all have homes.
