Some places we've been and some places we're going.

Craig Phadrig again

After reading that there was an Pictish fort at the top of Craig Phadrig in the 6th Century we decided to go to check it out. We started along the same path as before but then instead of going around the hill we went to the top. It was obvious where the fort had been because the whole area was flat but we couldn’t see any obvious signs of walls. Apparently in 1971 the site was excavated and they discovered the fort had been set on fire and the rocks had been fused by the heat. Unfortunately nature has reclaimed the site now.

From the top we could see along the Firth all the way to Beauly. A couple of times during our walk we had to shelter under the trees as the rain came down but the showers didn’t last long.
