Some places we've been and some places we're going.

Victor Harbor area

It was such a lovely, sunny day we decided to head south to Victor Harbor, about an hour from home. Because of Covid19 restrictions the Whale Watch Centre wasn’t posting updates of sightings which was disappointing.

Our first stop was at Horseshoe Bay.

Next stop, Basham’s Beach

Victor Harbor for a lovely lunch at a pub. The Seagulls took any opportunity to grab a snack if plates were left unattended.

The Bluff

Petrel Cove, I’ve never been here before and I loved it though I wouldn’t want to be here on a hot Summer’s day, the water would be too tempting and the rips are deadly!

The variety of rocks in one place fascinated me.

It would be easy to spend a day walking around the various tracks at any one of these lovely places.

  1. Next time we will do the paperbarkwalk. Dogs allowed.

  2. As you know sue, I did many many walks last year. My very favourite walk was the paperbark walk. A bit tricky to get to but through the paperbarks was lovely you could go part of the way then come out on the beach and walk back to victor. I just walked to pt elliot.
i liked parts of the mad pt elliot to goolwa walk to. And the day I left I discovered two other walks id not found. its an astonishing spot. Hey?

  3. I have such lovely memories of our (short) time in Victor Harbor 🙂 The weather was perfect, the skies were so blue and so was the water. Really looking forward to another visit someday.

    • Many people choose to retire down that way and the new developments in Victor were a surprise to me. It’s definitely a really lovely area.
